Our mission:
We do this by visiting as many ships as we can that call on the Port of Baltimore.
We welcome seafarers to Baltimore. We take a welcome package to each ship we visit with all sorts of helpful information. We let them know about local attractions, shopping centers, phone numbers for terminal security, and the most recent publications from the International Transportation Workers Federation and Mission to Seafarers. We also include some devotionals, chocolate, and other occasional goodies as well.
We meet seafarers from all over the world. We talk about their families, their lives onboard their ships, their hopes, their concerns, and the things that matter most to them. But more than anything, we listen and strive to be present to them however they need us
We provide free transportation ashore. Seafarers are often stuck aboard ship for long periods of time and welcome any opportunity to set foot on land. If they have a shore pass and valid US visa we can escort them from their vessel to visit the mall, sightsee around Baltimore, shop for essentials like groceries, toiletries clothing, and SIM cards so that they can connect with their families back home.
